A few Christmas Ideas for Adults & Kids …. since a few snowflakes fell

Good morning 🙂

It’s a nice freezing day here in Chesapeake, VA. Well, not literally FREEZING, but cold enough to where I am wishing I invested in that nice soft coat last time I was at the mall! Yesterday, we had a few snowflakes come down. My husband saw the first snowflake and goes: There’s a snowflake, it’s coming down!!! It was pretty hilarious! People in Virginia get like this (as they do in SC too) when it snows…

Since everything is in boxes right now, I can’t exactly do a craft 😦 or cook for that matter. We literally needed a pot the other day and had to open a box to get to one.

NOTE TO SELF: Pack cooking items on the last day!!!!

I did see a few cute Christmas ideas on facebook the other day. In honor of the few snowflakes that decided to make an appearance, I will post the ideas below. But true Christmas ideas will not be coming until after Thanksgiving haha. Though no Christmas tree is up at my house….I must admit the Christmas wreath I made is. 🙂

You don’t really need instructions with this one 🙂 if you love mickey then this would be an easy (and cute!) gift to give for Christmas.

Needed: White buttons

Red Ornament (if a child is doing it I would recommend a plastic ornament)

Permanent marker

hot glue and/or some form of super glue

Instructions: Basically, it looks like you use the permanent marker to draw and fill in a circle around the top of the ornament. Then, using the glue, paste on the buttons. Voila.

*I would check at $1 Tree for an ornament!*

The above is another cute idea! Something very easy and affordable.  A lot of people do the whole “Elf on the Shelf” idea so you could tie this into that. You could have your elf appear with a little baggie that has these “seeds” in it that he brought from the North Pole! Then, plant them in the sugar, and have candy canes appear the next day ❤

Lastly, I found some Rudolph Pancakes!!! This is totally for adults AND kids because I am making these this year. This is happening haha.

There was no recipe attached on pinterest but this is pretty self explanatory. Get some pancake mix ( and any ingredients that the box says needs to go with the mix), whip cream, blueberries (eyes), Cherry (nose), and Bacon (antlers). Then just make small and large pancakes for the nose and face. SO ADORABLE.

Just a few ideas!

Wednesday Weight Loss Journal

Hello Friends!

I’m happy to get this post to you in the morning this week as opposed to late at night 🙂 I’ve still been chugging away on the Elliptical. Currently my weight is 194.3.  It takes me a LONG time to lose weight but I know this will come off completely if I do not stop posting, keeping myself motivated, eating healthy, and exercising! I’ve realized that when I walk with friends (as opposed to the elliptical) I’m able to walk a longer distance because I’m talking and staying distracted. My body does not scream ENOUGH as fast. I highly recommend exercising with people if at all possible. But do not become so dependent on being with friends that you do not exercise if you can’t get with them. There needs to be an even balance.  If you love watching tv programs at night then tell yourself you can exercise BEFORE them or put the tv right in front of that elliptical, treadmill, bike, or other while you work out.  ❤

I wanted to touch on BREAKFAST today. My favorite meal of the day is, hands down, breakfast.  There is nothing I love more than cereal, scrambled eggs, or some oatmeal!  Everywhere I read it says that it is essential to NEVER skip breakfast because it will lead to over eating later in the day.  I completely agree with this. However, I feel that I am eating too much breakfast or that sometimes my breakfast is too heavy.  After doing some research, I feel led to promote a LIGHT breakfast. It’s recommended that breakfast is around 250 calories. An article on Real Age states   “When people ate things like eggs, sausage, cheese, marmalade, and butter for breakfast, they tended to overdo it.”  I’m not saying don’t eat these, but just be really careful about your portions. As for me, I tend to pour cereal into a Ziploc baggy when I go to work. I’m sure more than my estimation of a serving size is going into that bag! I’m going to become more aware and try things like spinach smoothies again.  Before you completely plug your nose and run for the hills, let me share some recipes I’ve researched with you! I’ve personally made spinach & fruit smoothies before. YES they are green. However, if you put fruit (especially a banana) with them then you should NOT taste any spinach.

Libby’s Pumpkin Muffins- 3 mini muffins= 100 Calories!

I found a delish looking Libby’s Pumpkin Muffin recipe (3 mini muffins for 100 calories) that I have to share. Cannot wait to make this weekend. After checking, I discovered this recipe got a lot of positive reviews. A few people substituted the oil for unsweetened applesauce or sour cream I noticed. Also, some chose to substitute the granola for chopped walnuts.

Recipe can be found here: Libby’s 3 for 100 Pumpkin Muffins

It’s always good to check reviews to see if there are any good substitutions that you may prefer!
