Ok so we all know what it’s like to pop our head in our fridge to find 1/4 gallon of milk and a stick of butter left. Only to check back in 30 minutes to make sure nothing else has appeared. 🙂
I do this all the time!! We are going to the store today but there is a challenge….my husband and I are working with a very tight budget and needing to come up with some cheap recipes that are not completely horrible for you. We are not on a diet but don’t want to live off pasta or frozen foods either!
Do you have any recommendations? I can easily search and find recipes online don’t get me wrong. But it HELPS to know that other people have tried it and not only did it work but they LIKED it ❤
Thanks for help!

Yarn Wall Art
For those of us who know what it’s like to not have two cents to rub together, this is a fantastic blog and idea! The blog is called BetweenHeAndShe and can be accessed here This page explains how to make wall art and/or words with just some yarn and nails! I honestly would have never thought of this! Just wanted to pass on. 🙂
BetweenHeAndShe also posts an amazing looking Green Smoothie on their page! I’ve done one with spinach before but never almond milk, protein powder, and flaxseed. Going to give this a shot! Cand be found here
I made the amazing pumpkin dip yesterday for my “Bachelor Night ” . OMG YUM. Everyone loved it and wanted the recipe. It was especially good on graham crackers but I also used apples and grapes!
I encourage yall to try this. I’m definitely saving this one!
Recipe can be found here at Six Sisters Stuff
I featured a recipe the other day from A Whisk and A Prayer but when I saw this one, I knew I had to add it as well! I LOVE no bake cookies. One thing I loved about these is that they have NO peanut butter in them. I love peanut butter but I find that it does tend to make me gain weight. Adding in blueberries sounds delicious! Cannot wait to make these ! Recipe for Easy No Bake Oatmeal Cookies can be found here
I was watching Ten Dollar Dinners on the Food Network today. I watched Melissa D’Arabian put together an easy and delicious looking Cinnamon Apple Tart. Recipe can be found:
Quick Cinnamon Apple Tart
The crust was homemade too!
Flour, Salt, and Sugar is all that makes up the crust 🙂
I’m guessing you could use a pre made baking crust (?)
I do not have a food processor so I’m wondering if just a hand mixer can be used…anyone know?
This was a four out of five-star recipe
Worth a Shot!
Love making things I’ve never tried before.
Picture above found here along with bio on her life.
It was interesting to get to know a few facts behind the chef such as:
“Raised by a single mother who was putting herself through college and medical school, Melissa grew up in Tucson, Ariz., with a
coupon-cutter mentality and on a shoestring budget in a humble home where waste
was frowned upon”
“She could never have guessed that a home video of her making yogurt — a simple
yet successful strategy that saved Melissa more than $1,000 a year — to share
with local moms would also be her ticket to the newest chapter in her career and
Ok , so this may sound hilarious but I do not recall ever making ravioli. I’m sure ive had the canned kind before but not the frozen kind in the bag. It’s REALLY easy!
Cheese (or Meat) Ravioli
What YOU NEED:
1 bag of Raviolis
1 jar of spaghetti sauce (your choice)
shredded parmesan cheese (option)
salt and pepper
HOW TO MAKE
1. Fill a pot with water, a sprinkle of salt, and set on stove top (high heat)
2. When water is boiling, pour in the amount of ravioli from the bag that you want. (I used 1/2 my bag)
3. Boil for 3-4 minutes until soft
5. Place Ravioli back into pot and add spaghetti sauce (since I used 1/2 baf of ravioli, I used 1/2 jar spaghetti sauce)
6. Put stove top on Meduium Heat and bring to a broil one more time
7. Add Parmesan Cheese and Salt & Pepper (or other seasonings)
This recipe is literally from the back of the bag of non name brand ravioli. It was just so easy and felt amazin on my throat since it hurts! Had to share 🙂
